We are currently accepting new submissions! To have your work considered, please submit all short fiction or art via email to dimension919mag@gmail.com.
**This is a locally focused magazine. Only submissions from authors/artists residing in North Carolina will be considered for publication, with priority given to those within the Triangle region.**
Fiction submissions:
Please keep all short fiction submissions between 1500 and 6000 words. Flash fiction is currently not within the scope of this publication, as our preference is for stories that take the time to establish a fully realized setting. Additionally, stories should be self-contained and not excerpted from a larger work (e.g., please do not submit a chapter from a novel). If you need to exceed the word limit, that is fine within reason; however, whether the higher word count is justified will be left to the discretion of the editors.
All stories must be original work. Any submissions that were written by or with the assistance of AI will be automatically rejected.
The following content is generally not preferred by the editors and, if submitted, will be subject to heightened scrutiny: fanfic, D&D, magical cats, gratuitous violence, and superheroes.
Horror is welcome, so long as elements of sci-fi/fantasy are still present in the story. Magical realism, however, will not be accepted, as we feel this is a genre separate from sci-fi/fantasy (please check out this link if you would like more information).
Do note that simultaneous submissions are allowed.
Please use modern manuscript format and submit your story in DOC, DOCX, or ODT file format. Be sure to include your address in the header of the manuscript and/or in the body of your submission email.
We are currently not accepting poetry.
